West Coast Fire Training offers unique services outside of live fire fire training based on our unique experience in the live fire world.
During live fire training sometimes bad things happen. When they do it is critical that a quality post incident analysis be conducted for both legal reasons and to ensure that lessons are learned and mistakes avoided in the future. Ian Bennett has thousands of hours of experience teaching and training in the live fire environment and served for a number of years as a member of the post incident analysis committee for the Seattle Fire Department. If an agency needs an outside professional to assist in the investigation of a significant live fire training incident WCFT can help.
Sometimes agencies or manufactures need to test their equipment or techniques against modern fuel fires before they go into the hands of firefighters who will us them in the most extreme circumstances. WCFT has run multiple test / demonstration burns using modern combustibles.
In 2023 and 2024 HEN Nozzles wanted to demonstrate the capabilities of their new nozzle and capture video of the nozzle fighting real fires in acquired structures. WCFT ran three different days of burns in three different acquired structures exceeding expectations with both the fire behavior created and the video that was obtained. All of this was accomplished while maintaining safety.
